- The production reserves the right to deviate a maximum of 3-4% from the head size in order to be able to plan a beautiful, straight and dimensionally stable product. In addition, humidity can affect the head size (dry and warm weather causes shrinkage).
- We supply wood at trade length. This means: not sawn square and not shortened to length, often with some excess length.
- Dry cracks can be seen on the short sides. Always calculate at least 10 cm extra sawing loss in length.
- Correct installation is very important. Good ventilation, sufficient framing and correct fastening are required. Before you start, read our mounting tips and instructions carefully!

KD 18-20% Humidity
This product is machine dried back (kiln dried) to a moisture content that is in balance with the typical outdoor usage. Upon delivery, the product has a more or less elaborated shape and will mainly shrink or expand (provided assembling instructions are properly applied) depending on the weather conditions.
Select Tight Knotty Grade
Select tight Knotty is a grade of American coniferous wood, such as Western Red Cedar. In contrast to Nr2 Clear&Better, this sorting allows healthy knots. Western Red Cedar with the Select Tight Knotty range will therefore be cheaper than Nr2 Clear&Better.
Western Red Cedar
Western Red Cedar is a popular type of wood. This type of wood starts out as Thuja plicata, also called the giant tree of life. This tree can reach extreme ages of up to 1000 years old. It is a dry type of wood that contains virtually no oil or greasy substances. The wood has a cinnamon-like scent, which prevents insects from nesting in the tree. The type of wood is also well resistant to various weather influences, whether it is extremely hot or cold.
Western Red Cedar is also called the cream of the crop when it comes to facade cladding. The type of wood is very lightweight and stable. The color of the wood can vary from chocolate brown to a light yellow appearance. Very special that all these different colors can come from one tribe.
Advantages
- lightweight and stable
- Beautiful color shades and calm drawings
- Durability class 2
- Easily machined and manually processed
- Very suitable for facade and wall cladding
Fastening Western Red Cedar can be done by using grooved nails. We recommend that you choose to use stainless steel nails. Do not use galvanized screws, these will create black spots and streaks on the wood over time.
Caution: Deep milling, longitudinal sawing or re-cutting can expose stresses. These stresses may have arisen during drying and processing. This is one of the reasons why we recommend adding 10% wood to your order. This way you can be sure that you have enough material to work with.
