The barcode profile consists of 4 different profiles that can be combined. These stackable profiles together give a unique appearance. When ordering, the number of products per profile is divided, so that you receive the same number of products per profile. It is of course also possible to make your own distribution of the number of products per profile. Then choose the desired number of pieces per profile when ordering. The profiles can be mounted both horizontally and vertically. It concerns the following Barcode profiles:
EUTR: this product complies with the European Timber Regulation – 995/2010. This European regulation prohibits the marketing of illegally harvested wood. The party that first places the product on the European market has a duty of care to demonstrate that the product has not been illegally harvested or traded.
This product is kiln dried before undergoing a heat treatment. This product has a more or less elaborated form.
This product is sorted according to the FAS (First and Second) grade. This is the most common and also the highest grade of (tropical) hardwood. With this grading, at least 83.3% of the wood is free from defects, small defects can occur over the remaining part. For complete defect-free processing, this product must be assembled saw-falling.
Ash is a yellow/brown wood from Europe. It is a wood that comes from a temperate climate and is harvested in responsibly managed forests. Due to the more local growing area, the use of Ash will have a smaller ecological footprint compared to tropical hardwoods.
During thermal modification, the Ash takes on a warm brown color (honey brown to espresso). Thermo Ash grays over the years, just like any other type of wood. This does not affect the durability. The class of this thermally modified wood species is durability class 1-2. Due to its excellent properties, Thermo Ash is suitable for applications such as facade and wall cladding, garden houses, terraces and gates. This is partly due to the wood's shape retention and excellent resistance to various weather conditions.
The wood rarely has a cross-grained grain and is mainly straight. Color differences are a natural feature of this wood once it has been thermally modified. These color differences are partly due to the structure, but also due to the different places of origin.
The installation of Thermo Ash is easy with the invisible fixing system of B-fix. You can also fix the wood with stainless steel screws. We recommend that you always pre-drill the wood to prevent the risk of cracks and splitting. Do not use galvanized screws; these create black spots and streaks on the wood over time.
Caution: Even with thermally modified wood, surface cracks are normal and stress cracks are possible. A normal width of these cracks is 1-3 mm and the length can vary. Stress cracks mainly occur along the front, where water absorption and release are higher. We therefore always recommend adding 10% wood to your order. This way you can be sure that you have enough material to work with.
